MIDVALE HEIGHTS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION AREA DIRECTORS’ MEETING MINUTES
TUESDAY February 25, 2023, 6:45 pm
Meeting held via Zoom due to room unavailability and pandemic.
Present: B. Roe, K. Walter, J. Walter, J. Thoreson, L. Raihala, T. Jarvis, W. Weber, D. Beilke, G. Fischer, J. Veto, J. Lager, C. Kreimendahl
Raihala called the meeting to order at 6:46 p.m.
1. Introductions
2. Minutes: Motion/2nd to approve January minutes. Motion carried.
3. Treasurer’s Report: None.
4. Blood Drive: Reminder that MHCA sponsors the March 9 Red Cross drive.
5. Segoe Park Picnic - J. Veto will coordinate and contact Cathy Rotter for guidance.
6. Summer Nights concerts: 4 bands have been booked with first concert 7/7.
7. New Resident Letter: Further discussion about welcome letter for new University Park (HyVee) apartment tenants. Kreimendahl agreed to finalize a welcome letter and Thoreson will follow up with apartment manager who offered to include it in new tenant packages from the landlord. Weber and Veto volunteered to co-host (possibly with Bob Park from WIDE-LP FM) a coffee meeting for new tenants at the apartments this spring or summer to recruit new MHCA members.
8. Announcements:
Jarvis suggested a possible Block Captain appreciation event.
Membership Drive: Will we be delivering printed membership newsletter to each MHCA household, as in the past? To be revisited.
Green Team: Will seek new signs from Rotter for median plot cleanup in May.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
